Rebel Without A Cause

Movie: Rebel Without a Cause (1955)
AFI List #59 on the 1998 list, not included on the 2007 list
My List #51
Starring: James Dean, Natalie Wood
My rating: ˜˜

The best description I found for this movie was "Rebel Without a Cause" is an American drama about disturbed suburban, middle-class teenagers". My sister watched this with me, and we both looked at each other at the end and said "huh?"

I could see the reasons this was so dramatic for it's time. James Dean plays a young man who just moved to a new town with his family, has to start a new high school. He mets a girl, disobeys his parents, and has a major run-in with the local gang. But what made it so groundbreaking was the critical look of parenting styles and not understanding different generations.

One of this reasons this movie is famous is because this movie is James Dean's last movie before he died. In fact, it was released a month after his accident, and he is notorious for being the ultimate misunderstood, rebellious teenager.

It was an okay movie, but I had some major annoyances with part of the story, so I wouldn't be recommending this anytime soon.
